C. Procedure
(1)
Remove the access panels.
(a)
Remove Wing Leading Edge Lower Access Panel.
(b)
Remove 544BB / 644BB Wing Access Door.
(2)
Disconnect the Steady Position and Strobe Position Lights.
(a)
Disconnect the strobe position light electrical connector from the power supply.
(b)
Disconnect the steady position light electrical terminals from the transformer.
(3)
Install the sling, HSE737-0010 or HSE757-0010 onto the winglet. See Figure
402. To avoid damaging the winglet, use all three sets of hoist points. Remove 3 sets of two GSE BACB30VF bolts from the nutplate locations shown. Use the hoist fittings per HSE737-0010.
NOTE: The winglet weighs approximately 145 lbs.

Remove the 18 bolts that attach the winglet to the wing/adapter plug.
(a) Put a label on each set of fasteners and washers to more easily install them later into the applicable hole.
(5)
Using the sling, remove winglet from wing just enough to access two bonding jumpers. Remove hardware from winglet end of each bonding jumper.

(6) Remove the winglet from the airplane with the sling.

D. Procedure
(1)
Before you install the winglet, make sure that the barrel nuts will prevent the bolts from backing out. To do this it is necessary to measure the drag torque of each barrel nut, see item (2)(b). You will find the barrel nuts in the 18 fastener holes in the winglet.

Verify the grip length of each fastener.
