757 AIRPLANE RECOVERY DOCUMENT 2-50-4 When you Remove Fuel with External Power
1. You can use the electrical power from an external source to remove fuel from the airplane. Possibly the internal electrical system on the airplane is damaged. You can get the necessary power from a control unit (approved by Boeing) that connects the external power source to the boost pumps (see Figure 2-36).

2-50-5 When you Remove Fuel with the Sump Drains
1.
The fuel sumps are installed at the lowest point of each tank (see Figure 2-37). The drain valves of these sumps permit you to remove bad material from the fuel tanks. They also permit you to remove the fuel that you cannot remove with the usual procedures.
2.
The drain valves are held in the closed position with a spring. You can operate a valve if you push it up and hold it against the spring. It is best if you use a 9/16-inch (14 mm) diameter tube.
In the center of the airplane, where the sump hose goes through the keel beam, there is a different procedure. You must hold the flexible hose and then you must push it up. You must use a special tool to lock the valve in the open position (see SUBJECT 5-10-1).

2-60 REMOVAL OF LARGE COMPONENTS FROM THE AIRPLANE 2-60-1 Component Removal, Basic
1. If you must remove airplane components, the instructions are found in the applicable Maintenance Manual. Figure 2-12 shows the approximate data (weight/moment) to help you with the removal. Use the correct document (Weight and Balance Manual) for accurate component values. Here are some components that you can remove:
