MAIN GEAR DRAG STRUT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General

A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task removes the drag strut for the main landing gear. The second task installs the drag strut for the main landing gear.

Prepare for the Removal of the Drag Strut for the Main Landing Gear

(1) Make sure the downlocks are installed on the nose and main landing gear (AMM 32-00-20/201).

WARNING: USE THE PROCEDURE IN AMM/32-00-15/201 TO INSTALL THE DOOR
_______ LOCKS. THE DOORS OPEN AND CLOSE QUICKLY AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Open the doors for the landing gear and install the door locks (AMM 32-00-15/201).

(3)
Remove the pressure from the left hydraulic system
(AMM 29-11-00/201).
(4)
Lift the airplane (AMM 07-11-01/201).

Remove the strut door for the main landing gear (AMM 32-12-04/401).

Disconnect the support brackets for the hydraulic lines and the electrical lines from the drag strut.

Hold the torsion links for the main landing gear to prevent movement.

Remove the Drag Strut for the Main Landing Gear.

Install the hoist adapter on the drag strut.
