CAUTION: DO NOT LIFT THE HUB BY THE TURBINE BLADES OR PUT THE HUB DOWN
_______ ON THE TURBINE BLADES. THE WEIGHT OF THE HUB CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TURBINE BLADES OR THE GOVERNOR MECHANISM.
(1)
Set the hub (18) in the strut housing.

Use a wrench to install the screws (36) to attach the hub bearing support to the strut and tighten the screws as follows:
(a) Tighten the screws (36) to 51-56 pound-inches.

Adjust the speed sensor (34) (AMM 29-21-15/501).

Install the speed sensor cover (22).

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

(1) Remove the circuit breaker lock set and close these circuit breakers on the overhead panel, P11:
(a)
11D26, HYDRAULIC RAT CONT or HYDRAULIC RAT AUTO CONT
(b)
11D27, HYDRAULIC RAT AUTO or HYDRAULIC RAT AUTO PWR

(2) Remove the circuit breaker lock set and close these circuit breakers on the main power distribution panel, P6:
(a)
6F1, RAT MAN or RAT MAN PWR
(b)
6F2, RAT MAN CONT
(c)
6F2, RAT MAN CONT (if installed)

(3) Do the test for the RAT to make sure it operates correctly
(Ref 29-21-00/501).

(4) S 214-064Do a check for leaks in the RAT assembly.
(5) S 864-065Retract the RAT (AMM 29-21-00/201).
(6) S 864-066Remove the power from the hydraulic systems (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(7) S 864-067Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

A. This procedure only has illustrations and wear limit table which show the data for wear limits. There are no procedures for access, removal, or installation of the parts. Refer to Ram Air Turbine (RAT) Assembly and Components Removal/Installation for procedures to do these tasks.
