 5)  Do a check to make sure Dimension C is correct after you tighten the locknut.
 6)  When Dimension C is correct with the locknut tightened, do the step that follows: a) Bend up the tabs on the key lockwasher against the
 flats on the locknut.

 (7)  SPEED SENSORS WITH A SHIM; Do the steps that follow to adjust the speed sensor (Fig. 502):
 (a)  
Measure Dimensions A and B (as shown in View C).

 (b)  
Calculate Dimension C (as shown in View C).

 (c)  
Measure Dimension D (as shown in View D).

 (d)  
Calculate the shim thickness, Dimension E (as shown in View D).

 (e)  
Install a shim with the correct thickness, Dimension E, on the speed sensor.

 (8)  Install the screws to attach the speed sensor to the RAT strut housing and tighten the screws as follows:
 (a)  Tighten the screws to 19-21 pound-inches.

 (9)  Slowly turn the hub to make sure there is sufficient clearance between the speed sensor gear and speed sensor.
