Knowing the circuit symbol
- The circuit symbol index specifies the item reference and the CSN relevant to a given symbol. (See paragraph 3.B for a Brakedown of a circuit symbol).
2
Through the illustrated nomenclature: a Knowing the figure - Item No. The text corresponding to the figure number permits identification of the component part relevant to the item. b Knowing the location of the component part The figure of the relevant sub-assembly gives the item applied to the part. The corresponding text enables its identification.
C. Abbreviations And Symbols Utilized
(1) Abbreviations
(a) In the designation of the part, the following symbols are used in compliance with ATA 100 specification: AR: As Request - (quantity), EDI: Equipment Designator Index, FOR DET: For Detail, FOR NHA: refer to Next Higher Assembly, NI ALPHA: Numerical Index (alpha part), NI NUM: Numerical Index (numeric part), NP: Not Procurable - (Item), OPT SEE: Optional See Table,
ORDER OVERLGTH: actual reference of an item of more than 15 characters listed in the nomenclature column (designation). Item is entered with this abbreviation,
P/N: Part Number,
POST SB: Post Service Bulletin,
POST SL: Post Service Letter,
REF: reminder - (sub-assembly already accounted for at the next higher level),
SEL FROM: part or component requiring a selection,
SUPSD BY: Superseded by,
SUPSDS: Supersedes,
VCI: Vendor Code Index.

M: mega = 10exp(6)
K: kilo = 10exp(3)
U: one = 1
MY: milli = 10exp(-3)
MU: micro = 10exp(-6)
N: nano = 10exp(-9)
P: pico = 10exp(-12)
(c)
The following letters are used in the standard index to indicate tolerances on electronic components.
B: 0.1 %
C: 0.25 %
D: 0.50 %
F: 1 %
G: 2 %
J: 5 %
K: 10 %
(2) Circuit symbols
(a) A circuit symbol is made up of:
-
1 or 2 letters specifying the nature of the component part (letter symbol),
-
1 or 2 numerals stating the order code of the component part in the relevant sub-assembly,
- or possibly with a position suffix, containing 2 or 4 numerals, and defining the sub-assembly in which the component part is mounted. This suffix is chosen at random.
(b) Application: R10 - 6 (R: Letter Symbol, 10: Order No. - 06: Position) suffix
