where the compression fittings on some anti-ice fluid distribution lines may not have been properly
installed. Incorrect installation of compression fittings could result in distribution line separation and FIKI
Anti-Ice System malfunction.
5. DESCRIPTION
This Service Bulletin contains instructions for inspecting the affected compression fittings for proper installation
and, if necessary, compression fitting reassembly.
6. WARRANTY INFORMATION
For aircraft under warranty at the issue date of this Service Bulletin, Cirrus Design will cover all parts and
labor costs for this Service Bulletin if the work is accomplished within the Compliance time period and the
work is performed at an authorized Cirrus Design Service Center.
7. MANPOWER REQUIREMENTS

10. MATERIAL INFORMATION
Order kit 70240-001 to obtain the following parts:
11. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
A. Remove key from ignition.
B. Set BAT1, BAT2, and AVIONICS switches to OFF positions.
C. Pull ICE PROTECT A and ICE PROTECT B circuit breakers.
D. Drain anti-ice fluid. (Refer to AMM 12-10)
E. Remove wing access panels LW1 and RW1. (Refer to AMM 6-00)
F. Remove empennage access panel RE3. (Refer to AMM 6-00)
G. Remove crew seats. (Refer to AMM 25-10)
H. Remove carpeting. (Refer to AMM 25-10)
I. Remove cabin access panel CF1L, CF2L, CF3L, and CF4L. (Refer to AMM 6-00)
J. If installed, remove Avidyne TAS processor.
(1) At access hole CF2L, disconnect antenna and electrical connections from TAS processor.
(2) Remove attaching hardware securing Avidyne TAS Processor to cabin floor.
K. At the following locations, perform Inspection/Check - Compression Fitting. (See Figure 1)
There are 10 1/2” diameter distribution lines installed on FIKI-equipped aircraft. The distribution lines
are located between the following components and must be checked on both ends for a total of 20 connections.
• RH Tank Strainer to Three-way Control Valve
• LH Tank Strainer to Three-way Control Valve
• Three-way Control Valve to In-Line Strainer
• Flow Transducer to Metering Pump 1
• Metering Pump 1 to Metering Pump 2
• Unequal Tee 1 to High Pressure Switch
• High Pressure Switch to Filter Assembly
• Equal Tee to Main Proportioning Unit
• Equal Tee to Unequal Tee 2 (Test Port Assembly)
• Unequal Tee 2 (Test Port Assembly) to Tail Proportioning Unit

L. Inspection/Check - Compression Fitting
(1) Place shop towel below compression fitting to catch fluid drip.
Note: To access compression fitting on Main Proportioning Unit, it may be necessary to
loosen proportioning unit from mounting bracket.
(2) Disconnect distribution line from component.
(3) Inspection Criteria (See Figure 1)
(a) A correctly installed olive will exhibit the following characteristics:
1 Angled sealing surface of olive has signs of burnishing/abrasion;
2 Forward edge of olive is no longer visible and has been "curled" into nylon tubing;
3 Nylon tubing exhibits slight flare on the sealing surface side of the olive;
4 Olive is physically secure and does not spin or pull off by hand.
(b) An under tightened olive will exhibit the following characteristics:
1 Angled sealing surface of olive has no or insignificant signs of burnishing/abrasion;
2 Forward edge of olive is visible and has not been "curled" into nylon tubing;
3 Nylon tubing does not exhibit a flare on the sealing surface side of the olive;
4 Olive is not physically secure and may spin easily or pull off by hand.
(c) An over tightened olive will exhibit the following characteristics:
1 Angled sealing surface is concave and has signs of excessive burnishing/abrasion;
2 Nylon tubing exhibits excessive flaring on the sealing surface side of the olive.
