some aircraft that the wire harnesses of metering pump 1 and 2 were connected incorrectly and/or the wire
harness on metering pump 2 was incorrectly identified as “J1391”.
On affected aircraft, the FIKI system operation is not adversely affected. However, due to the swapped orientation
of wire harnesses, metering pump 1 and metering pump 2 operate opposite to assigned functionality
and could introduce misidentification during system troubleshooting.
5. DESCRIPTION
This Service Bulletin contains instructions for inspecting the wire harnesses of metering pump 1 and
metering pump 2 for proper connection and identification. This Service Bulletin also provides instructions
for rerouting the power connectors for both metering pumps and relabeling the wire harness on metering
pump 2 as required.

Part and labor cost for this Service Bulletin are at the owner’s expense.

11. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
A. Acquire necessary tools, equipment, and supplies.
B. Remove key from ignition.
C. Set BAT 1, BAT 2, and AVIONICS switches to OFF positions.
D. Remove LH passenger seat. (Refer to AMM 25-10)
E. Remove carpeting to expose access panel CF4L. (Refer to AMM 06-00)
F. Remove cabin access panel CF4L. (Refer to AMM 06-00)
G. Inspect order of operation for metering pumps.
(1) Identify installation locations of metering pump 1 and metering pump 2. (Refer to AMM 30-05)
(2) Set BAT 1 switch to ON position.
(3) Set ICE PROTECT power switch to ON position.
(4) To run metering pump 1, set ICE PROTECT mode switch to HIGH position.
(5) Inspect metering pump 1 for vibration evidence of operation.
(6) Set ICE PROTECT power switch to OFF position.
(7) Set ICE PROTECT mode switch to NORM position.
(8) To run metering pump 2, set PUMP BKUP switch to ON position.
(9) Inspect metering pump 2 for vibration evidence of operation.
(10) Set PUMP BKUP switch to OFF position.
(11) Set BAT 1 switch to OFF position.
H. If inspection indicates correct order of metering pump operation, verify labeling for connectors.
(1) Verify labeling on metering pump 2 wire harness indicates “J1392”.
(2) If labeling is incorrect, correct labeling on wire harness to read “J1392”.
I. If inspection indicates reversed order of metering pump operation, swap connectors.
CAUTION: To ensure metering pump flow rates will fall within specification after swapping
connectors, Cirrus Design must be contacted prior to swapping connectors.
(1) Please use the following table to identify required information prior to calling:
(2) Contact Cirrus Design at 1-800-279-4322 (International: 952-988-1940) for disposition.
(3) Pull ICE PROTECT A and ICE PROTECT B circuit breakers.
(4) Disconnect electrical connector from each metering pump.
(5) Reroute electrical connectors to opposite metering pumps and secure to existing wire harnesses
with cable ties.
(6) Verify labeling on metering pump 2 wire harness indicates “J1392”.

(7) If labeling is incorrect, correct labeling on wire harness to read “J1392”.
(8) Connect electrical connector on wire harness “P1391” to metering pump 1 connector “J1391”.
(9) Connect electrical connector on wire harness “P1392” to metering pump 2 connector “J1392”.
(10) Reset ICE PROTECT A and ICE PROTECT B circuit breakers.
(11) Perform Operational Check - Ice Protection System. (Refer to AMM 30-05)
J. Install cabin access panel CF4L. (Refer to AMM 06-00)
K. Install carpeting. (Refer to AMM 25-10)
L. Install LH passenger seat. (Refer to AMM 25-10)
M. Complete airplane records by noting compliance with SB 2X-30-06 in Aircraft Logbook.
