11. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
A. Remove key from ignition.
B. Set BAT 1 switch to OFF position.
C. Remove upper and RH lower engine cowling. (Refer to AMM 71-10)
D. Set fuel selector valve to OFF.
E. Using fuel sampler, drain fuel from gascolator and drain tube. (Refer to AMM 12-10)
F. Remove gascolator and bracket.
(1) Remove screws and washers securing heat shield to existing gascolator. Remove heat shield
and retain.
(2) Loosen tube nuts on gascolator drain tube assembly, remove drain tube and discard.
(3) Loosen nuts on gascolator inlet and outlet fuel line connections.
(4) Serials 3026 thru 3420 w/ Perspective Avionics: Disconnect gascolator sensor from airplane
wire harness.
(5) Remove screws and washers securing gascolator bracket to firewall.
(6) Remove gascolator and bracket from airplane and retain.
(7) Remove fuel line between fuel boost pump and gascolator and discard.
(8) Remove fuel line between gascolator and engine driven pump. Discard fuel line (Serials 2710
thru 3420 w/ Avidyne Avionics) or retain fuel line for future use (Serials 3026 thru 3420 w/ Perspective
Avionics).
G. Kit 70226-001: Install gascolator, bracket and fuel lines. (See Figure 1)
Note: When installing gascolator, ensure that flow-through arrow on gascolator top
points in direction of fuel flow (inboard to outboard).
(1) Loosely install gascolator to bracket with long screws, washers and lock washers and bracket to
firewall with short screws and washers.
(2) Install fuel line between fuel boost pump and gascolator.
(3) Tighten screws securing gascolator bracket to firewall and gascolator to bracket.
(4) Install fuel line between gascolator and engine driven pump.
(5) Install drain line and torque nuts.
H. Kit 70226-002: Install gascolator, bracket and fuel lines. (See Figure 2)
Note: When installing gascolator, ensure that flow-through arrow on gascolator top
points in direction of fuel flow (outboard to inboard).
(1) Loosely install gascolator to bracket with bolts and washers and bracket to firewall with cap
screws.
(2) Install fuel line between fuel boost pump and gascolator.
(3) Tighten screws securing gascolator bracket to firewall and gascolator to bracket.
(4) Reconnect existing fuel line between gascolator and engine driven pump.
(5) Install drain line and torque nuts.
(6) Safety wire bolts securing gascolator to bracket or use MS35338-43 lock washers (not included
in kit) and torque.
I. Cover screws securing gascolator bracket to firewall with high temperature RTV sealant. (Refer to
AMM 51-30)
J. Torque all fuel line fittings.
K. Set fuel selector valve to ON, and leak check gascolator and all fittings.

L. Serials 3026 thru 3420 w/ Perspective Avionics: Cap gascolator connector P245 using heat shrink and
tying off the end. Stow wire harness securely so it will not contact fuel lines in engine compartment.
M. Install upper and RH lower engine cowling. (Refer to AMM 71-10)
N. Package retained gascolator and heat shield and return to Cirrus Design for warranty reimbursment.
O. Complete airplane records by noting compliance with SB 2X-28-08R1 in Aircraft Logbook.
