B. Install the Gascolator Filter

(1) Put the filter into position in the filter bowl.
(2) Install a new seal onto the top of the filter bowl.
(3) Install the filter bowl:
S Move the filter bowl into position onto the
gascolator.
S Align the arrow marks on the filter bowl with
the marks on the gascolator.
S Tighten the retaining ring which holds the
filter bowl in position.
Make sure that the seal is correctly
positioned.

(5) Do a test for leaks of the gascolator filter bowl:
S Set the airplane ALT/BATT switch to ON.
S Set the electric fuel pump to ON.
S Set the fuel selector valve to LEFT or RIGHT.
S Examine the gascolator bowl for leaks.
S Set the selector valve to OFF.
S Set the electric fuel pump to OFF.
S Set the airplane ALT/BATT switch to OFF,
Select tank with more fuel.
(6) Install the access panel under the fuselage
around the gascolator drain valve.
Refer to Section 52-40.
4. Remove/Install the Electric Fuel Pump (Booster Pump)
Obey the safety precautions for fuel at all times.
A. Remove the Electric Fuel Pump

(1) Set the fuel selector valve to OFF.
(2) Pull the circuit-breaker for the electric fuel pump. Instrument panel, right side.
(3) Drain the fuel from the gascolator drain valve. Use a suitable container.
(4) Remove the access panel under the fuselage
around the gascolator drain valve.
Refer to Section 52-40.
(5) Disconnect the electrical cable for the electric fuel
pump.
At the in-line connector.
(6) Disconnect the flexible hose which connects the
fuel pump to the gascolator.
At the fuel pump. Put caps on the
connections.
(7) Disconnect the flexible hose which connects the
fuel pump to the firewall connector.
At the fuel pump. Put caps on the
connections.

(8) Remove the fuel pump:
S Release the bolt and washer from the fuel
pump clamp.
S Open the clamp and move the pump clear of
the clamp and away from the airplane.
Hold the fuel pump!

B. Install the Electric Fuel Pump
Detail Steps/Work Items Key Items/References
(1) Move the fuel pump into position in the mounting
clamp.
Hold the fuel pump.
(2) Install the fuel pump:
S Put the washer onto the attaching bolt.
S Install the bolt through the clamp and into the
mounting pump mounting.
S Tighten the bolt.
(3) Install the flexible hose which connects the fuel
pump to the firewall connector.
(4) Install the flexible hose which connects the fuel
pump to the gascolator.
(5) Connect the electrical cable to the fuel pump. At then in-line connector.
(6) Set the circuit-breaker for the fuel pump. Instrument panel, right side.
(7) Do a test for leaks at the connections for the
electric fuel pump and related equipment:
S Set the airplane ALT/BAT switch to ON.
S Set the electric fuel pump to ON.
S Set the fuel selector valve to LEFT or RIGHT.
S Examine the fuel pump and connections for
fuel leaks.
S Set the selector valve to OFF.
S Set the electric fuel pump to OFF.
S Set the airplane ALT/BATT switch to OFF.
Select tank with more fuel.
(8) Install the access panel under the fuselage
around the gascolator drain valve.
Refer to Section 52-40.
(9) Do a test of the fuel storage and distribution
system.
Refer to Section 28-10.

1. General
This Section tells you about the fuel distribution system for airplanes with the TAE 125 Diesel engine
installed. The fuel distribution system supplies fuel from the fuel tanks to the engine. This Section tells
you about the components and equipment which make the fuel distribution system. These are the
