Prepare to Remove the Parking Brake Switch

(1) Put the chocks below the wheels.

CAUTION: DO NOT USE THE PARKING BRAKE HANDLE TO RELEASE THE PARKING
_______ BRAKE. IF YOU PUSH OR TWIST THE HANDLE, IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HANDLE LINKAGE.

Push and release the two brake pedals to release the parking brake.

Open this circuit breaker on the main power distribution panel, P6, and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
(a)
6F4, LANDING GEAR PARKING BRAKE VLV

Remove the Parking Brake Switch

(1) Get access to the switch in the forward equipment bay which is below the control cabin.

Disconnect the electrical wires from the switch.

Remove the two bolts which hold the switch to the structure for the rudder pedal.

Install the switch.

(1)
Make sure the parking brake handle is released.

Install the switch assembly as follows:
(a)
Put the switch assembly at the two attach holes in the support housing for the rudder pedal.
(b)
Loosely install two screws through the switch assembly and the mating holes in the housing for the rudder pedal.
NOTE: The aft attach hole in the switch support fitting has a
____ slot to permit the switch assembly to move down.
(c)
Move the switch assembly down until the attach screw is at the bottom of the slot.
(d)
Do not tighten the screws until the switch adjustment is done.
