 (4)  If the tension in the cables NWSA (9) and NWSB (8) is less than half the tension shown in Table 502, do the Rigging of the NWS System.

 F. Do a Check of All Rig Pins for Nose Wheel Steering System
 S 865-184
 (1)  
Look at the indicator (58) on the steering collar (Detail E, Fig. 502) to make sure the nose wheels are less than 1/2 degree from the center.

If the indicator (58) is not there, lift the airplane nose on jacks (AMM 07-11-02/201) to put the nose wheels in the center.


 NOTE: The nose wheels and the steering collar will go to the center
____ when the shock strut is fully extended. The centering cams in the shock strut will do this automatically. It is possible that it will be necessary to manually put the nose wheels in the center. If the wheels are not in the detent for the center, you can feel when the wheels are manually turned and go into the detent.

If they are not disconnected, disconnect the torsion links (42 and 44, Fig. 502) (AMM 32-21-09/401).

Hold the top torsion link (44) to be clear of the cables and other components.

Lower the top torsion link to turn the piston position quadrant (46) against the resistance of the interconnect springs and install rig pin NS7 (40, Detail A, Fig. 502).
