CAUTION: ON AIRPLANES WITH THE 275N2059-2 SPRING CARTRIDGE, MAKE SURE
_______ YOU HOLD THE TOP TORSION LINK IN THE HORIZONTAL POSITION. IF THE TORSION LINK IS NOT HELD IN THE HORIZONTAL POSITION, IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PROXIMITY SENSORS OR TARGETS IF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR IS NOT COMPRESSED.
 (2)  If they are not disconnected, disconnect the torsion links (42 and 44, Fig. 502) (AMM 32-21-09/401).
NOTE: When the landing gear is extended with the torsion links
____ connected, you cannot install the rig pin NS7.
 (a)  Hold the top torsion link (44) to be clear of the cables and other components.
 S 865-009
 (3)  Make sure the tiller pointer (31) is on the zero mark of the tiller indicator (32) (Detail D, Fig. 501).

 (4)  S 835-010Make sure you can install the eccentric drum rig pin NS6 through the rig pin hole (24, View C-C, Fig. 501) in the forward bracket (23) and the eccentric drum (25).
NOTE:____ You must turn the eccentric hub on the interconnect mechanism to the air mode, against the pull of the interconnect springs, to install rig pin NS6.
 (5)  S 825-180Make sure the piston position rig pin NS7 (40, Detail A, Fig. 502) can be installed easily when there is no weight on the spring cartridge piston (45, Detail A, Fig. 502). Measure the free length of the spring cartridge (45) between the rod end centerlines. Make sure it is 17.20|0.01 inches for the 275N2059-1 and -2 spring cartridges and 16.51|0.01 inches for the 275N2059-3 spring cartridge.
 (6)  S 095-011Remove the rig pins NS6 and NS7.
 (7)  S 825-012Make sure the tension in the cables NGPPA (2) and NGPPB (5) is in tolerance (Table 501). Use the cable tensiometer. It is convenient to measure the NGPP cable tension at the back of the nose gear above the piston position quadrant.
 (8)  S 435-271Connect the torsion links (42 and 44, Fig. 502) (AMM 32-21-09/401).
 (9)  S 435-013Examine all of the adjustable rod ends in the piston position/rudder interconnect system to make sure the threads are engaged correctly. The end of the rod must fill at least half of the inspection hole.
