Airside F


TAMPA  INTERNATIONAL  AIRPORT
EMERGENCY  RESPONSE MANUAL
ANNEX Q - AIRSIDE F EMERGENCY EVACUATION  PLAN
PURPOSE: To establish evacuation procedures for Airside F using Airport Operations, Police, Fire, and building tenant personnel, thus minimizing the possibility of panic or personal injury.
A description of the Airside F fire alarm system is outlined in Annex L of this manual.
EVACUATION PROCEDURES:    In the event conditions dictate the evacuation of Airside F, the following actions will be taken (These procedures may be modified by the Incident Commander if necessary):
A.  Communication Center
1.  In addition to notification procedures in Section 2-420, Fire and Explosions- Structural, the Center will notify the following departments and companies and advise organizations of evacuation instructions:
 Bombardier Transportation
 American Airlines
Airside F Security
 British Airways
 Cayman Airways
 Duty Free
HMS Host/Stellar Partners
 US Airways

U. S. Agriculture
U. S. Customs and Border Protection  Triangle Services WestJet
2.  Will make the following announcement to Airside "F" in both English and Spanish using the public address system.
Airside Evacuation
"Your attention please. This  is an emergency message.  Please evacuate this building immediately through the nearest exit and do not attempt to re-enter until instructed to do so by the Aviation Authority."
These announcements will be repeated at one minute intervals until

such time the airside has been evacuated to the satisfaction of the
Incident Commander.
3.  Will make the following announcement to the Landside Building in both English and Spanish using the public address system.
"Your attention please, Airside F has been closed.  Please remain in the Landside Building."
The announcement will be repeated every five minutes until cancelled by the ADO or the Incident Commander.
4.  
Elevators are not to be used for building evacuation.

5.  
Determine from the ADO the proper positioning of the shuttle cars.

6.  
When the notice of re-entry is received from the ADO or the Incident Commander, notify tenants that re-entry is now permitted.


B. Airport Police
 1.  
Immediately dispatch police officers to direct and assist an orderly evacuation along with fire rescue personnel.

2.  
Dispatch a police officer to the Federal Inspection Station area of the building to announce and assist in the evacuation of the building. Evacuation of the F. I. S. area will be through the sliding glass doors to the truck court.

3.  
Assist those closest to the fire or point of detonation.

4.  
Check all areas of Airside F accessible to the public to ensure the areas are clear.

5.  
Upon evacuation of the building, assign officers to assist in the control of the public at the main terminal and at the Airside F truck court.

C. Tenants
During business hours, all tenants of Airside F should have at least one person designated as safety officer.  The safety officer(s) will have responsibility for their tenant area during a building evacuation. Within personal safety limits, the responsibilities of the safety officer(s) includes management and control of fellow employees to carry out the following:
1.  Immediately notify Airport Police via emergency telephone number
(911) or (870-8760), if a fire or other emergency occurs in their tenant area.
