2-430.31 PRELIMINARY PRECAUTIONS
2-430.311 Tie down, place under shelter, remove, or properly secure all loose material, debris, equipment, and other lightweight and moveable property.
2-430.312 Protect all doors, glass, vulnerable partitions, signs, light globes and fixtures, and other similar items by boarding up, shuttering etc., wherever possible.
2-430.313 Repair, replace, or remove fences, gates, and barricades that are not secure and in a useable condition.
2-430.314 Check to see that all fire extinguishers are in operable condition and water reservoirs are full, in the event of firefighting needs.
2-430.315 The Authority will monitor activities from an overall perspective. Authority emphasis will be on public safety and protection of common airport facilities. The Authority will also monitor the operational status of the airport and will make the decision to close the airport to all or some
operations if it is determined to be in the interest of safety. 2-430.32 SPECIFIC PRECAUTIONS 2-430.321 TPA Control Tower
Maintain all functions as required by the FAA during adverse weather conditions. Establish and maintain communication with the
Communication Center and notify when Tower operation is being shut down and when Tower operation is resumed.
2-430.322 Airlines, General Aviation Companies, and Other Services Airlines and general aviation companies and other service providers are directly responsible for the protection of their

property. This includes their aircraft, associated air-ground equipment, fuel farms, vehicles etc. All aircraft owners/operators and other services must decide whether their aircraft and equipment should be evacuated to a safe place, hangared, or tied down. The Authority strongly recommends the evacuation of all airworthy and flyable aircraft not adequately hangared.
The Authority may close the airport or portions thereof to air traffic if it is determined to be in the interest of safety. With this in mind, aircraft requesting landings will be requested to hold until frontal passage (except where emergency conditions exist) or will be diverted to other airports.
