Prepare to Remove the Cooling Manifolds for the HPT Case

WARNING: DO THE THRUST REVERSER DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE
_______ OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Do this procedure: Thrust Reverser Deactivation for Ground
Maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Open the core cowl panels (AMM 71-11-06/201).

Remove the Cooling Manifolds for the HPT Case
S 014-003-N00
(1) For the forward cooling air tubes, remove the lower support link for the pneumatic manifold with the steps that follow (view C):
(a)
Remove the bolt, washer, and nut which attach the support link to the flange M bracket.
(b)
Remove the nut and washer which attach the support link to the pneumatic manifold.
(c)
Remove the support link from the engine.
(d)
Install the washer and nut, which were removed, at the pneumatic manifold. 1) Tighten the nut with your hand.

(2) For the lower aft, upper forward, and upper center forward cooling air tubes, remove the engine fire detector element and support tube (AMM 26-11-02/401).

ENGINES PRE-PW-SB 79-76; Remove the oil pressure tube for the No. 4 bearing with the steps that follow (Views A and E):
(a)
Remove the clamps which attach the spray shield at the tube nut forward of Flange M at approximately the 10 o'clock position.
(b)
Remove the spray shield from the engine.
(c)
Disconnect the tube nut forward of Flange M from the coupling.
(d)
Remove the hose clamps which attach the spray shield to the rear connection rearward of Flange P at approximately the 10:30 position.
(e)
Remove the spray shield from the engine.
(f)
Disconnect the tube nut aft of Flange P from the coupling.
