Remove the four bolts which attach the hinged clamps on the actuator mount rails to the HPC case bracket.
(h)
Lift the actuator until it is free from the bracket pins and stop.
(i)
Disengage the forward end of the control cable from the actuator shaft.
(j)
Remove the actuator from the engine.

(2) If it is necessary to replace the actuator, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Remove the drain tube adapter (smallest of the three) and the packing from the actuator. 1) Discard the packing.
(b)
Remove the hinged clamps from the actuator mount rails.

(3) Install protection caps to all open line ends and the openings in the actuator.

(1)
Remove the protection caps from the openings in the actuator.

Make sure the actuator can move freely on its mount rails.

If it is necessary to install a new actuator, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Lubricate the new packing for the drain tube adapter with engine oil.

(b)
Install the new packing to the drain tube adapter.
(c)
Install the drain tube adapter to the port in the actuator. 1) Tighten the drain tube adapter to 90-100 pound-inches (10.2-11.3 newton-meters).
2) Safety the drain tube adapter with lockwire or safety cable and safety cable ferrule.
(d)
Install the two hinged clamps to each mount rail on the actuator. 1) Install lockwire to hold the hinged clamps in the closed
position.

(4) Install the actuator:
(a)
Lubricate the threads of the attaching bolts of the actuator with engine oil.
(b)
Hold the actuator in position above the HPC case bracket.
(c)
Engage the inner section of the control cable with the actuator shaft.
