C. Prepare to Remove the No.3 Turbine-Vane Cooling Air-Duct

WARNING: DO THE THRUST REVERSER DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE

OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF
THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT.

Do this procedure: Thrust Reverser Deactivation for Ground
Maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Open the left fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-04/201).

Open the left core cowl panel (AMM 71-11-06/201).

WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN 78-31-00 WHEN YOU OPEN THE THRUST

Open the left thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Procedure

(1)
Remove the No.3 turbine-vane cooling air-duct:
(a)
Remove the drain tube for the oil tank scupper with the steps that follow: 1) Disconnect the tube nut from the elbow adapter on the oil
tank scupper.
2) Remove the bolt, nut, and washer which attach the tube clamp for the drain tube to the support bracket on the flange N rearward of the deoiler outlet tube.
3) Remove the bolt, nut, and washer which attach the tube clamp for the drain tube to the bracket on the flange N at the 6:30 o'clock position.
4) Remove the bolt, nut, and washer which attach the aft end clamp of the drain tube to the bracket on the flange M. 5) Remove the drain tube.
