 cruise and climb operation to decrease the distance between the turbine
 blade tip and the turbine case. In addition, turbine vanes and blades
 are cooled internally by 12th-stage high pressure compressor (HPC) air.

 F.  The TCC system and the TVBCA system are controlled by the electronic
 engine control (EEC) as a function of altitude and high pressure rotor
 speed (N2).

 2.  High Pressure Turbine Case Cooling Air Shutoff Valve (Fig. 1)

 A.  The shutoff valve for the HPT case cooling air controls the flow of fan
 discharge air to the HPT case cooling manifolds (air tubes).

 B.  The shutoff valve is installed on the HPT case at the 3 o'clock position. The shutoff valve is connected to the shutoff valve for the LPT case cooling air by a linkage attached to the idler arm on the shutoff valve.
 C.  The butterfly valve is fully modulated with a push-pull control cable
 connected to a hydraulic actuator.

 3.  Low Pressure Turbine Case Cooling Air Shutoff Valve (Fig. 1)

 A.  The shutoff valve for the LPT case cooling air controls the flow of fan
 discharge air to the LPT case cooling manifolds.

 B.  The shutoff valve is installed on the HPT case at the 3 o'clock position. The shutoff valve is operated by a control cable which also operates the shutoff valve for the HPT case cooling air.
 4.  High Pressure Turbine Case Cooling Collector (Fig. 1)

 A.  The HPT case cooling collector, installed on the HPT case at the 4 o'clock position, is connected between the shutoff valve for the HPT case cooling air and the manifolds of the HPT case cooling.
 5.  Low Pressure Turbine Case Cooling Collector (Fig. 1)

 A.  The LPT case cooling collector, installed on the HPT and LPT cases at the 4 o'clock position, is connected between the shutoff valve for the LPT case cooling air and the manifolds for the LPT case cooling.
