 Maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Open the right core cowl panel (AMM 71-11-06/201).

 WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN AMM 78-31-00/201 WHEN YOU OPEN THE
_______ THRUST REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
 (4)  
Open the right thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Procedure


 S 024-029-N00
 (1)  Remove the HPT case cooling collector:
 (a)  Disconnect the wire harness and the support tube clamps from the engine with the steps that follow: 1) Remove the bolt and nut which attach the support tube clamp
 to the angle bracket on the aft flange of the lower right
 (No. 2) turbine vane cooling (TVC) air duct.
 2)  Remove the bolt and nut which attach the support tube clamp to the bracket on the bridge bracket for the HPT cooling air tube at the 4:30 o'clock location.
 3)  Remove the bolt and nut which attach the support tube clamp to the bridge bracket for the LPT cooling air tube at the 5 o'clock location.
 4)  Remove the bolt and nut which attach the wire harness and support tube clamps to the bracket on the diffuser/combustor case at the 3 o'clock location.
 (b)  Remove the lower right (No. 2) TVC air duct (AMM 75-24-02/401).
 NOTE: After you remove the TVC air duct, you also remove the
____
 angle bracket.

 (c)  Remove the bolts which attach the tubes for the HPT case cooling air to the HPT collector.

(d)  Disconnect the tubes for the HPT case cooling air from the HPT collector with the steps that follow (section A-A): 1) Remove the bolts and nuts which attach the higher and lower
 tube clamps on the forward cooling air tube to the
 brackets.
 a) Disengage the tube from the HPT collector.

 2)  Remove the bolts and nuts which attach the higher and lower tube clamps on the center cooling air tube to the bridge bracket for the HPT cooling air tube. a) Disengage the tube from the HPT collector.
 3)  Remove the bolts and nuts which attach the higher and lower tube clamps on the aft cooling air tube to the brackets. a) Disengage the tube from the HPT collector.
 (e)  
Remove the bolt and nut which attach the bracket for the HPT collector to the clamp (view B).

 (f)  
Remove the bolts and nuts which attach the HPT collector and lower support link to the lower flange of the HPT case cooling air shutoff valve and support bracket (section B-B).

 (g)  
Remove the HPT collector from the engine.

 (h)  
Install the protection caps to the HPT collector openings and the air tubes for the HPT cooling manifold.
