F. Procedure
S 424-028-N00
(1) Install the EGT probe (1):
(a)
Remove the covers.
(b)
Put the EGT probe (1) in its position in the housing.
(c)
Align the holes in the EGT probe with the holes in the housing.
(d)
Align the holes in the bracket (7 or 11) (at the 1, 4, or 7 o'clock position) and the holes in the EGT probe with the holes in the housing.
(e)
Lubricate the threads of the bolts (6) with the Silver Goop.
(f)
Install the bolts (6).
(g)
Tighten the bolts (6) to 54-60 pound-inches
(6.1-6.7 newton-meters).
(h)
Install lockwire or the optional safety cable and ferrule to the bolts (6).

CAUTION: DO NOT USE LUBRICANTS ON THE EEC SENSE TUBES, ADAPTERS, OR
_______ PACKINGS. IF YOU USE LUBRICANTS ON THESE PARTS, CONTAMINATION OF THE EEC CAN OCCUR.

Connect the PT4.95 manifold nut (9) to the probe adapter.

Tighten the manifold nut (9) to 135-150 pound-inches
(15.3-16.9 newton-meters).

(4) S 434-023-N00If it is necessary, tighten the bolts for the clamps on the PT4.95 manifold adjacent to the EGT probes to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5 newton-meters).
(5) S 434-042-N00Install lockwire or the optional safety cable and ferrule to the manifold nut (9).
(6) S 434-024-N00Put the harness leads (5) in their position on the thermocouple studs.
(7) S 434-025-N00Install the washers (4 and 8) and the nuts (2 and 3) to the thermocouple studs.

CAUTION: DO NOT TIGHTEN THE NUTS ON THE THERMOCOUPLE STUDS TOO MUCH.
_______ TOO MUCH TORQUE (MORE THAN MAXIMUM TORQUE) ON THE THERMOCOUPLE NUTS CAN LOOSEN OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE THERMOCOUPLE STUDS.
(8) Tighten the nuts (2 and 3) as follows:
(a)
Tighten the nuts (2) on the alumel studs (the larger nuts) to 18-22 pound-inches (2.0-2.5 newton-meters).
(b)
Tighten the nuts (3) on the chromel studs (the smaller nuts) to 15-18 pound-inches (1.7-2.0 newton-meters).

Close the core cowl panel (AMM 71-11-06/201).

For the applicable engine, remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers on the main power distribution panel, P6:

(11) Do the test of the EGT probe that is shown in the Power Plant Test Reference Table (AMM 71-00-00/501).
