Engine Tachometer System

 (1)  
The EEC speed transducer (N1) senses the speed of the low pressure rotor (N1) and transmits the output frequency to the EEC. The EEC converts the N1 analog input signal to a digital signal and sends it to the EIU's for display on the main EICAS display.

 (2)  
The EEC receives the speed signal of the high pressure rotor (N2) by sensing the frequency of one phase of the power windings output of the EEC alternator (N2 transducer). The EEC converts the N2 analog input to a digital signal and sends it to the EIU's for display on the main EICAS display.

 (3)  
A dedicated winding in the EEC alternator outputs a frequency signal to the engine N2 speed card for N2 speed sensing.

EGT Indicating System

 (1)  
Four EGT (TT4.95) thermocouple probes, located in the struts of the turbine exhaust case, supply a voltage proportional to the sensed engine exhaust gas temperature to the EGT terminal box via thermocouple cables. The voltage inputs are averaged in the terminal box and the output signal sent to the EEC, which transmits the signal to the EIU's for display on the main EICAS display.

AVM System

 (1)  
An engine accelerometer, mounted on the engine fan case, generates an electrical signal proportional to the sensed vibration. The AVM signal conditioner receives the accelerometer signal (along with N1 and N2 speeds) and converts this information into velocity signals, which are normalized to units, and transmitted to the EIU's for display on the auxiliary EICAS display.
