(c)  Disconnect the exciter-to-igniter cable terminal from the igniter plug.
 (3)  S 216-003-C00Examine the ignition exciter housing for these: (a) Cracks 1) Cracks are not permitted. (b) A change in color.
 NOTE:____ An indication of an overheat condition.
 (c)  1) Replace the ignition exciter if the housing color changed.Holes 1) Holes are not permitted.
 (4)  S 216-004-C00Examine the mounting brackets for cracks. (a) Cracks are not permitted.
 (5)  S 216-005-C00Examine all the areas for nicks, dents or scratches. (a) Nicks, dents or scratches that are less than or equal to 0.03 inch (0.76 mm) in depth are permitted.
 (6)  S 216-014-C00Make sure the electrical connectors are correctly attached and are in good condition.
 (7)  S 216-006-C00Examine the threads of each electrical connector. If the threads have more damage than is specified below, replace the exciter. (a) More than 30 percent of the first thread on the connector is damaged. (b) More than 20 percent of the first two threads are damaged. (c) If the threads have less damage than is specified above, chase the threads.
 (8)  S 216-007-C00Examine the connector pins for damage. (a) Replace the exciter if the pins cannot move, are bent, broken or show erosion.
 (9)  S 216-008-C00Examine the connector wells for dirt.

 SPARKS, FLAME AND HEAT.  SOLVENT IS FLAMMABLE AND MUST NOT
 TOUCH THE SKIN.  SOLVANT CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE TO THE
 EQUIPMENT.

 Clean the dirty connector wells with a brush and solvent (CP 2101) (AMM 70-10-01/201).

HIGH TENSION DISTRIBUTION - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

 1.  General
_______
 A.  The high tension distribution system conducts the high voltage electrical energy developed in the ignition exciters to the spark igniter. A distribution system consists of ignition leads and spark igniters. One of two distribution systems may be installed.
