SPARK IGNITER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure gives the removal and installation procedure for the Type 3 and Type 4 spark igniters.
(1)
There are 2 spark igniters (Fig. 401) in the bosses at the 4 and 8 o'clock position on the combustion case.
(2)
The Type 3 spark igniter goes directly into the boss on the combustion case.
(3)
The Type 4 spark igniters screw into an igniter bushing on the combustion case.
(4)
The tip of the spark igniter extends through the ferrules in the outer lining into the combustion chamber.
(5)
Each spark igniter is connected by a lead to an ignition exciter.
