WARNING:_______THE IGNITION SYSTEM VOLTAGE IS DANGEROUSLY HIGH. DO NOT TOUCH THE IGNITION COMPONENTS UNTIL YOU DO THE PROCEDURE THAT FOLLOWS. THIS PROCEDURE WILL RELEASE THE HIGH VOLTAGE FROM THE IGNITION EXCITER. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PROCEDURE, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.
(4) Do these steps to release the high voltage from the ignition exciter:
(a)
Set the start switch to the OFF position.
(b)
Stop (wait) for a minimum of 2 minutes.

(5) Do these steps to remove the exciter:
(a)
Disconnect the connector on the forward side of the exciter.
(b)
Disconnect the cable on the forward side of the exciter.
(c)
Disconnect the connector on the aft side of the exciter.
(d)
Put dust caps on the open connectors.
(e)
Hold the stud, with the open end of the wrench on the stud flat, between the mount and the exciter.
(f)
Remove the nuts and washers that attach the exciter to the bracket (4 locations).

(6) Remove the exciter from the studs.
NOTE: The bond jumper must stay attached to the fan case.
