Lightly apply graphite grease (CP 2101) to the threads and pressure faces of four mounting bracket studs (AMM 70-10-01/201).

Do these steps to install the exciter:
(a)
Install the exciter on the bracket studs.
(b)
Hold the stud, with the open end of the wrench on the stud flat, between the mount and the exciter. 1) Install the exciter with four nuts and washers. 2) For the upper exciter, connect the bond jumper to the upper
left stud.

3) For the lower exciter, connect the bond jumper to the lower left stud.
NOTE: Make sure the bond jumper is between the washer and

the exciter.
4) Tighten the nut to 55-70 pound-inches (6-8 Newton meters).
(c) Connect the ignition lead to the connector on the aft side of the exciter. 1) Tighten the connector nut to 140-160 pound-inches
(16-18 Newton meters). ú
(d) Connect the cable from the power supply to the connector on the forward side of the exciter. 1) Tighten the connector nut with your fingers.

(1) Open the right fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

WARNING:_______THE IGNITION SYSTEM VOLTAGE IS DANGEROUSLY HIGH. DO NOT TOUCH THE IGNITION COMPONENTS UNTIL YOU DO THE PROCEDURE THAT FOLLOWS. THIS PROCEDURE WILL RELEASE THE HIGH VOLTAGE FROM THE IGNITION EXCITER. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PROCEDURE, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.
(2) Do these steps to release the high voltage from the ignition exciter:
(a)
Set the start switch to the OFF position.
(b)
Stop (wait) for a minimum of 2 minutes.
