(1) Open the right and left fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

Open the right and left thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

For the repair of damaged chafe guards, do these steps:
(a)
Make a clean, dry, lintfree cloth moist with 1, 1, 1 trichloroethane (CP1011) or stoddard solvent (CP2011).
(b)
Use this cloth to clean the damage area of the ignition lead that you repair.
(c)
The surface that you clean must air dry fully.
(d)
Apply a thin layer of the Black RTV732 (CP2242) sealant to the damaged area of the ignition lead.
(e)
Push the damaged chafe guard back in its position.

2. Repair of the Type 3 Ignition Leads
___________________________________
A. General
(1)
This task provides repair instructions for the Type 3 ignition leads.
-Replace the spark igniter
-Check the clearance of the socket contact
-Replace the ceramic insulator
-Repair the socket contact.
(2)
This task applies to the two ignition leads.
