Do these steps to remove Type 3 ignition leads:
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE SPARK IGNITER FALL FROM THE IGNITION LEAD.

THE SPARK IGNITER CAN BE DAMAGED.
(a)
Loosen the coupling nut.
(b)
Pull the ignition lead and spark igniter straight out (no side loads) from the combustion case. 1) Carefully pull the spark igniter free from the ignition
lead (if attached).
NOTE: The friction fit of the ignition lead and spark
____ ignitor may prevent removal as a unit.
(c) Install dust caps on the ignition lead and in the spark igniter connector.

(9) Do these steps to remove Type 4 ignition leads:
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE IGNITION LEAD FROM THE SPARK
_______ IGNITER, MAKE SURE YOU RELEASE THE FIRST HINGED CLAMP FROM THE IGNITION LEAD. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE CERAMIC TIP ON THE SPARK IGNITER END OF THE IGNITION LEAD.
(a)
Remove the shroud clamp at the spark igniter connector.
(b)
Remove the cooling shroud at the spark igniter connector.

Loosen the coupling nut and disengage the ignition lead from
the spark igniter as follows (Post SB 74-004):
1) Make sure you pull the ignition lead straight out
(no side loads).
2) Make sure you remove the (white or red) chamfered silicone seal with the ignition lead. a) Make sure you remove the (white or red) chamfered
silicone seal in the spark igniter. 3) Remove the (white or red) chamfered silicone seal from the
ignition lead. 4) Discard the (white or red) chamfered silicone seal. 5) Keep the caged spring assembly. 6) Put dust caps on the ignition leads and the spark igniter.
(d) ENGINES POST-CFMI-SB 74-009;
Loosen the coupling nut and disengage the ignition lead from
the spark igniter as follows (Post SB 74-004):
1) Make sure you pull the ignition lead straight out
(no side loads).
2) Make sure you remove the blue symmetrical silicone seal with the ignition lead. a) Make sure you remove the blue symmetrical silicone seal
in the spark igniter. 3) Remove the blue symmetrical silicone seal from the ignition
lead. 4) Discard the blue symmetrical silicone seal. 5) Keep the caged spring assembly. 6) Put dust caps on the ignition leads and the spark igniter.
(e) If it is necessary, remove the spark igniter
(AMM 74-21-02/401).

(10) On Type 3 and Type 4 ignition leads, remove the clamps that connect the ignition leads to the fan case.
(a)
Remove the bolt that connects the ignition leads to the cooling air bracket at the bottom of the 3 o'clock strut.
(b)
Remove the retaining plate that connects the ignition leads to the cooling air bracket at the bottom of the 3 o'clock strut.
(c)
Remove the strut fairing at the 3 o'clock position to permit
access.
(d)
Remove the ignition leads from the clamps at the 3 o'clock
strut.
CAUTION: CAREFULLY PULL AND HELP THE IGNITION LEAD TO PREVENT
_______ DAMAGE TO THE IGNITION LEAD. DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(e) Carefully pull the ignition lead in the aft direction at the 3 o'clock strut. 1) Continue to move the ignition lead in the aft direction
until it is fully through the 3 o'clock strut.
