NOTE:  When a waveguide section is reinstalled, make certain that the choke flange end is always mated with the cover flange end of the mating section. Otherwise, a significant increase in VSWR may result.
B.  Connect section 1 to antenna input port loosely with four screws with waveguide gasket installed.
C.  Install eight coupling screws loosely on section 1 pressure seal to bulkhead.
D.  Place section 2 in position and align with section 1. Make certain that waveguide gaskets are installed, then connect forward flange to section 1 with four screws each.
E.  Secure waveguide switch and installed dummy load to support loosely with four screws and lockwashers.
F.  Connect electrical connector to waveguide switch. Align section 2 with waveguide switch and connect loosely with gasket, and four screws.
G.  Align section 3 with waveguide switch and connect with gasket and four screws. Align section 3 with R/T mount tray and connect with gasket and four screws.
H.  Line up mating flanges on waveguide sections 1 thru 3 and tighten securely. Tighten screws in pressure seal. Take up tolerances to attain as near a nonstress waveguide installation as possible by moving waveguide support bracket, R/T mount tray, and other items in the installation as necessary.
I.  Install R/T unit and check for proper mating of waveguide flanges.
J.  Make certain that screws in all flanges, the pressure seal flange, waveguide support bracket, dummy load, and R/T mount tray are tightened firmly.
6.  Restore Airplane to Normal
A.  Close radome.
B.  Perform operational checks of weather radar system (Ref Weather Radar System -Adjustment/Test).

C.  If system operates properly, close forward access door (1103) and nose radome as required.

WEATHER RADAR RECEIVER-TRANSMITTER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A.  The weather radar receiver-transmitter is located in the forward nose compartment. Access is gained through the lower nose compartment access door.
WARNING:  DO NOT OPERATE WEATHER RADAR WHILE AIRPLANE IS BEING REFUELED OR DEFUELED AND DO NOT OPERATE IN ANY RADIATING MODE WHILE A FUELING OPERATION IS BEING CONDUCTED WITHIN 300 FEED OF THE ANTENNA OR AN EXPLOSION MAY OCCUR.
PERSONNEL MUST NOT ENTER AN AREA CLOSER THAN 50 FEET IN FRONT OF A RADIATING ANTENNA OR INJURY TO PERSONNEL MAY OCCUR.
CAUTION:  WHEN WEATHER RADAR IS OPERATED IN ANY MODE OTHER THAN STANDBY OR TEST, DIRECT NOSE OF THE AIRPLANE SO FORWARD 180-DEGREE SECTOR IS FREE OF LARGE METALLIC OBJECTS (HANGARS, TRUCKS, OTHER AIRPLANES, ETC.) FOR A DISTANCE OF 300 FEET AND TILT ANTENNA UPWARD 15 DEGREES OR DAMAGE MAY OCCUR.
2.  Remove Receiver Transmitter - Sperry Primus 90
A.  Open WEATHER RADAR AC and DC circuit breakers on P18-1 circuit breaker panel, and tag with DO-NOT-OPERATE identifiers.
B.  Release and lower the lever latch handles on R/T.
C.  Pull R/T unit forward and out of shockmount.
NOTE:  If receiver-transmitter is not to be replaced or reinstalled immediately, place protective covers over waveguide and electrical connectors to protect from dirt, debris, and moisture.
3.  Remove Receiver Transmitter - Collins WXR-700X
A.  Open WEATHER RADAR AC circuit breakers on P18-1 circuit breaker panel, and tag with DO-NOT-OPERATE identifiers.
B.  Loosen knurled nuts and allow bolts to swing down.
C.  Pull R/T unit forward and out of shockmount.
NOTE:  If receiver-transmitter is not to be replaced or reinstalled immediately, place protective covers over waveguide and electrical connectors to protect from dirt, debris, and moisture.

4.  Install Receiver-Transmitter - Sperry Primus 90
A.  Remove protective covers from waveguide and electrical connectors, if installed.
B.  Visually check waveguide port, on shockmount, is free of dirt, debris and moisture.
C.  Release lever latch handles and set handles to their lowest position.
D.  Slide R/T into shockmount and carefully push it completely to the rear, engaging the guide pins.
CAUTION:  CHECK ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS, WAVEGUIDE FLANGES, AND INDEX PINS ARE PROPERLY ALIGNED OR DAMAGED EQUIPMENT COULD RESULT.
E.  Press lever handles upwards, engaging the shockmount, until the handles latch and lock.
F.  Remove DO-NOT-OPERATE identifiers and close WEATHER RADAR AC and DC circuit breakers.
G.  Perform operational test in weather radar system A/T (Ref 34-41-0).
