(m)
Rotate antenna reflector, by hand, to 80 degrees left. Check antenna deflection, read against elevation scale, is 0 +1 degree.
(n)
Using tilt table, simulate 0 degrees pitch and 15 degrees right roll. Check antenna deflection, read against elevation scale, is 15 +1 degrees down.
(o)
Rotate antenna reflector, by hand, to 0 degree azimuth. Check antenna deflection is 0 +1 degree.
(p)
Position azimuth drive switch (on antenna) to ON and replace SCAN switch guard.
CAUTION: ENSURE PERSONNEL ARE STANDING CLEAR OF SCANNING ANTENNA REFLECTOR.
(q)
Depress WX mode selector. Check antenna scans 80 +5 degrees left and right from dead ahead at six to seven cycles per minute.
(r)
If no other tests are required, perform Weather Radar Shut-down procedure.
4. Weather Radar Shut-down Procedure
A. Depress STBY mode selector.
B. Position remaining controls on weather radar as follows:
(1)
INT - Full CCW
(2)
STAB - OFF
(3)
GAIN -PRE-SET
(4)
RANGE -100
(5)
TILT - 0
(6)
AZIM switch/indicator - Off
(7)
SEC SCAN switch/indicator - Off
(8)
FRZ switch/indicator - Off
(9)
TGT ALRT switch/indicator - Off
C. Depress OFF mode selector.

WEATHER RADAR ANTENNA - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
EFFECTIVITY
Airplanes with Sperry Primus 90 Weather Radar
1. General
WARNING: BE SURE POWER IS OFF AND ALL WEATHER RADAR CIRCUIT BREAKERS ARE OPEN ON CIRCUIT BREAKER PANEL P6. OPERATION OF RADAR EQUIPMENT INVOLVES THE USE OF HIGH VOLTAGES THAT ARE DANGEROUS TO LIFE.
MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL MUST OBSERVE ALL SAFETY REGULATIONS AT ALL TIMES.
2. Remove Weather Radar Antenna
A. Open nose radome (Ref Chapter 53, Nose Radome).
B. Disconnect weather radar antenna electrical connector (Fig. 401).
C. Disconnect waveguide section from antenna waveguide input port by removing one screw from each corner of waveguide flange. Collect four washers, and one O-ring gasket from waveguide flange.
D. Remove four antenna mounting bolts. Collect a washer from each bolt. If shims are installed between antenna mount base and bulkhead fastener, make certain that same shims are reinstalled when antenna is installed.
NOTE: Antenna reflector must be handled with care so that no undue pressure is exerted which will bend the reflector and cause distortion of the transmitted beam. If antenna is not to be replaced or reinstalled immediately, waveguide and connector must be protected from dirt, debris and moisture.
3. Install Weather Radar Antenna
A. Remove protective covers from waveguide and connector, if installed. Make certain that shims (if any) are in place (Ref par. 2.D. above).
B. Place antenna unit into place and install four mounting bolts and washers (Fig. 401).
C. Connect weather radar antenna electrical connector.
D. Make certain that 0-ring gasket is installed in flange recess, then connect waveguide to antenna with a washer and screw at each corner of waveguide flange.
E. Perform weather radar system tests as required (Ref 34-41-0 A/T).
F. Close radome and fasten securely.
