(1) Do the testing and fault isolation procedure (Ref. CMM 313234) in the component shop to reset the EEPROM of the CFDIU before you install it on the aircraft.

B. Installation of the CFDIU
(1)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors (2).
(4)
Make sure that the electrical connectors (2) are in the correct condition.
(5)
Instal the CFDIU (1) on its rack (3).
(6)
Push the CFDIU (1) on its rack (3) to connect the electrical connectors (2).
(7)
Engage the nuts (4) on the lugs (5) and tighten. Subtask 31-32-34-865-052

Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 2TW, 8TW

The main function of the DFDRS is to convert various critical flight parameters into a recordable form and to record them on a Digital Flight Data Recorder. The stored data is also applicable to monitor the condition of the connected aircraft systems. The system design covers the basic DFDRS. This includes the units and parameters which are necessary for the mandatory requirements and an additional part to standardize the installation for different customers. The electrical characteristic is in compliance with ARINC 717.
