Do these steps to remove any fuel that remains in the fuel tank:
(a)
Put sponges and lint-free cotton rags on the bottom of the fuel tank to absorb any fuel that remains in the tank.
(b)
Count the number of sponges and cotton rags as they are put into the fuel tank.
(c)
Remove the sponges and cotton rags when they are soaked.
(d)
Count the number of sponges and cotton rags as they are removed from the fuel tank.
(e)
Make sure the counts agree.
WARNING:_______ USE ONLY SPONGES AND COTTON RAGS TO ABSORB SUMP FUEL. OTHER
MATERIALS CAN CAUSE THE RELEASE OF STATIC ELECTRICITY. THE
RELEASE OF STATIC ELECTRICITY CAN CAUSE AN EXPLOSION IN THE
FUEL TANK.
MAKE SURE THERE IS A GOOD FLOW OF AIR WHEN YOU USE SPONGES OR
RAGS TO ABSORB THE SUMP FUEL. DO NOT REMOVE THE RESPIRATOR
WHEN YOU ARE IN THE FUEL TANK. DO NOT DO MAINTENANCE IN THE
FUEL TANK UNTIL ALL FUEL IS REMOVED FROM THE AREA. A LARGE
CONCENTRATION OF FUEL VAPORS COULD KILL YOU.

(f) Make sure you remove all sponges and cotton rags from the fuel tank.
WARNING: SPONGES AND RAGS USED TO CLEAN THE FUEL TANK ARE A FIRE
_______ HAZARD. FOLLOW APPROVED PROCEDURES FOR FUEL SOAKED SPONGES AND RAGS. DO NOT PUT FUEL SOAKED SPONGES AND RAGS IN UNAPPROVED BARRELS. SPONGES AND RAGS THAT ARE NOT CORRECTLY HANDLED CAN CAUSE A FIRE. A FIRE CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(g)
Follow approved procedures to dispose of or clean the fuel soaked sponges and rags.
