 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE ALIGNMENT INSERT ON THE ACCESS DOOR IS ON THE
_______ CORRECT SIDE OF THE ACCESS OPENING. FUEL LEAKAGE CAN OCCUR IF THE ACCESS DOOR IS NOT INSTALLED IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION.
 (6)  On the main tank access doors with the fuel measuring sticks, make sure the alignment insert in the access door is in the same position as the alignment notch in the wing skin (Fig. 401).

Make sure the aluminum gasket is serviceable.

Make sure the anticorrosion grease correctly fills the aluminum mesh on the two sides of the gasket before you install it.

 NOTE: If you apply less than a sufficient quantity of grease,
____ it can cause spaces that collect water. Too much grease can move out to the wing surface.

If the aluminum gasket is not serviceable, do these steps to replace it:

 (a)  
Remove the gasket and clean the clamp ring surface with solvent.

 (b)  
Make sure the anticorrosion grease correctly fills the aluminum mesh on the two sides of the gasket before you install it.

 NOTE: If you apply less than a sufficient quantity of
____ grease, it can cause spaces that can collect water. Too much grease can move out to the wing surface.
 (c)  Install a new gasket to the clamp ring.
 NOTE:____Make sure the clamp ring and gasket holes align. The holes are not symmetrical.

 CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH GREASE IN FRONT OF THE MOUNTING SCREWS.
_______ YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PANEL WITH THE HYDRAULIC PRESSURE FROM THE GREASE.

 Apply a very thin layer (0.010 to 0.015 inch) of anticorrosion grease to the lower surface of the wing skin that touches the aluminum gasket for the access panel (Fig. 401).

 Set and hold the gasket and the clamp ring in the opening while you install the mounting bolts.
