The circle in the upper diagram of denotes both interacting traffic flows and a potential problem area in terms of crossing routes close to the Terminal Airspace limits, the problem is created by the fact that the boundary has been ‘forced’ to coincide with another
e.g. a national boundary. The lower diagram shows that by creating one Terminal Airspace ‘Bloc’, ATM can be rendered more efficient by increasing the sectorisation options in the total airspace. See S3, below.
