Procedure
S 212-010
(1) Examine clearances of the strut tubes:
NOTE: The supported area of a tube is defined as the section of
____ a tube that is within three inches of a bulkhead nut. The bulkhead nut connects the tube to a rigid piece of equipment.
(a)
Do a check of the clearance between the fuel line and adjacent structure: 1) Make sure the clearance is not less than 0.30 inch at
locations that are not supported.
(b)
Do a check for clearance at locations that are supported:
1) There must be at least 0.10 inch clearance between the tube assembly and adjacent structure. a) The tube is considered supported for 3.0 inches from
the fastener attaching the tube to structure or equipment. 2) Do a check for clearance of at least 0.50 inch between tubes that cross.
3) Do a check for clearance for any tubes that are aligned in parallel. a) The minimum clearance for tube assemblies maintained
parallel by clamp blocks is the distance measurement between the tubes at the clamp block.

(2)
For wire clearances, see the Standard Wiring Practices Manual (SWPM 20-10-11, High Vibration Areas).
