A. Test
(1) Do the operational test of the AFS without rudder trim-control switch (9CC) operation (Ref. AMM TASK 22-96-00-710-001) and read the result for the FAC 2.
(2) Do the operational test of the AFS (turn the rudder trim-control switch (9CC) in one direction) (Ref. AMM TASK 22-96-00-710-001) and read the result for the FAC 2.
4. Fault Isolation
_______________
A. If the first test only gives the maintenance message AFS: FAC2/RT CTRL SW 9CC:
- replace the FAC-2 (1CC2), (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-400-002).
(1) If the fault continues:
- replace the CTL SW-RUDDER TRIM (9CC).

Feb 01/98 CES (2) If the fault continues:
- do a check and repair the wiring of the RUD TR R NC SW COM and RUD TR L NC SW COM discretes from the FAC 2 (1CC2) to the rudder trim-control switch (9CC), (Ref. ASM 22-68/03).
B. If the second test only gives the maintenance message AFS: FAC2/RT CTRL SW 9CC:
- replace the FAC-2 (1CC2), (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-400-002).
(1) If the fault continues:
- replace the CTL SW-RUDDER TRIM (9CC).
(2) If the fault continues:
- do a check and repair the wiring of the RUD TR R NO SW MON or RUD TR L NO SW MON discretes from the FAC 2 (1CC2) to the rudder trim-control switch (9CC), (Ref. ASM 22-68/03).
C. If the two tests give the maintenance message AFS: FAC2/RT CTRL SW 9CC:
- do a check and repair the wiring of the ground signal at the rudder trim-control switch (9CC) pin 8 (Ref. ASM 22-68/03).
D. Do the tests given in Para. 3.

(1) Do the operational test of the AFS (turn the rudder trim-control switch (9CC) in one direction) (Ref. AMM TASK 22-96-00-710-001) and read the result for the FAC 1.
4. Fault Isolation

A. If the test gives the maintenance message AFS: FAC1/RT CTRL SW 9CC:
- do the procedure: (Ref. TASK 22-62-00-810-801).
B. If the test does not give the maintenance message AFS: FAC1/RT CTRL SW 9CC:
- replace the CTL SW-RUDDER TRIM (9CC).
C. Do the operational test of the rudder trim function (Ref. AMM TASK 22-62-00-710-001).
Rudder Trim-Control Switch Inoperative in the Two Directions with the FAC 1
1. Possible Causes
