- do a check of the wiring of the RUD TR RES NO MON discrete (from the FAC 1 (1CC1) to the RUD TRIM/RESET pushbutton switch (8CC)) (Ref. ASM 22-68/03).
(a) If there is no continuity:
- repair the above wiring.
(b) If there is continuity:
- do a check and repair the wiring of the ground signal at RUD TRIM/RESET pushbutton switch (8CC) (from pin 8 to the first terminal block) (Ref. ASM 22-68/03).
B. If only the second test gives the maintenance message AFS : FAC1/RT RESET SW 8CC:
- replace the FAC 1 (1CC1) (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-400-002).
(1) If the fault continues:
- replace the P/BSW-RUD TRIM/RESET (8CC).
(2) If the fault continues:
- do a check of the wiring of the RUD TR RES NC COM discrete (from the FAC 1 (1CC1) to the RUD TRIM/RESET pushbutton switch (8CC)) (Ref. ASM 22-68/03).
(a) If there is no continuity:
- repair the above wiring.
(b) If there is continuity:
- do a check and repair the wiring of the ground signal at RUD TRIM/RESET pushbutton switch (8CC) (from pin 2 to the first terminal block) (Ref. ASM 22-68/03).
C. If the two tests give the maintenance message AFS : FAC1/RT RESET SW 8CC:
- do a check and repair the wiring of the ground signal from the ground point to the first terminal block (Ref. ASM 22-68/03).
D. Do the tests given in Para. 3.

(1) Do the operational test of the AFS (Ref. AMM TASK 22-96-00-710-001) and read the result for the FAC2:
(a) With the RUD TRIM/RESET pushbutton switch (8CC) pushed.
(b) With the RUD TRIM/RESET pushbutton switch (8CC) released.
4. Fault Isolation

A. If only the first test gives the maintenance message AFS : FAC2/RT RESET SW 8CC:
- replace the FAC-2 (1CC2), (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 22-66-34-400-002).
(1) If the fault continues:
- replace the P/BSW-RUD TRIM/RESET (8CC).
