OVRD position should not be used because it would operate igniters in the
shut down engine.
APU ..................................................................................................START

Move APU master switch to start and release with RPM indication.
Continue checklist while APU is starting.
FUEL X-FEED Lever, Boost Pumps (If No Center Wing Fuel).................................................ON, PUMPS SET
Normally, if center tank fuel is available and the pumps are on, no action is required. If center tank fuel is not available, fuel imbalance is likely to occur. Move the FUEL X-FEED lever to on and turn off boost pumps for the appropriate main tank. Monitor fuel balance carefully and crossfeed as required to maintain lateral balance within 1500 lbs.

PNEU X-FEED VALVE Lever (Affected Engine)..........................CLOSE
AUX & TRANS HYD PUMP Switches ............................. AS REQUIRED
AIR CONDITIONING SUPPLY Switch (Affected Engine)................OFF

If this air conditioning pack is required for pressurization, and there was
no indication of fire or severe damage associated with the failed engine,
leave switch in ON and move both PNEU X-FEED VALVE levers to open.
AIR COND SHUTOFF Switch......................................................... OVRD

This allows TRI to display MCT. ENG SYNC Selector ............................................................................. OFF APU Bus Switch (Affected Side).............................................................ON
Check APU generator volts and frequency. If good, place the APU bus
switch for the side with the failed engine to ON. This procedure retains
the protection of the AC X-tie lockout system.
Note:  Coordinate any procedure requiring an engine shutdown with ATC as soon as possible.
Note:  Restricted rudder may result after applying maximum rudder due to asymmetric thrust. If RUDDER TRAVEL UNRESTRICTED light does not come on during deceleration, momentarily centering rudder pedals and rudder trim may allow rudder throw limiter to return to speed-

scheduled position. IF Driftdown is Required: Refer to DRIFTDOWN PROCEDURE. IF Engine Restart is to be Attempted: Refer to INFLIGHT ENGINE START CHECKLIST. IF After Takeoff or Missed Approach: Accomplish the After Takeoff checklist. Refer to ONE ENGINE INOPERATIVE APPROACH AND LANDING CHECKLIST.

(Continued)
Note:  Engines that have windmilled as a result of shutdown inflight will require an inspection. Airworthiness of the engine and action to be taken will be governed by the inflight report. Make the following logbook entries, as time and conditions permit:
1.
Windmill RPM

2.
Windmill time

3.
Windmill oil pressure

4.
Length of time engine windmilled without oil pressure

5.
Oil pressure at time of shutdown

ENGINE FAILURE AFTER V1 PROCEDURE

PILOT FLYING (PF)  PILOT MONITORING (PM)
“POWER LOSS” is called by the first pilot detecting engine failure.
Maintain directional control, rotate to takeoff pitch attitude of approximately 13. after VR speed is attained.  Call “ROTATE” at VR. Call “POSITIVE RATE” when a positive rate of climb is indicated.
Call “POSITIVE RATE, GEAR UP, CHECK MAX POWER” when a positive rate of climb is indicated. Maintain wings level and adjust pitch to maintain V2. Avoid following FD pitch commands until 200’ AGL.  Position the landing gear handle UP on command. If ART switch is in AUTO: Check ART light is on and engine EPR at limit. If ART switch is OFF: Push GA on the TRI and advance throttle to the GA EPR limit.
* Climb at V2, limit bank angle to  Monitor engine, flight

be used if required for special  control.
departure procedure.)
Call “HEADING SELECT” at 400 feet AGL if a turn is required. (Turn may be started as low as 50 feet AGL if required for special departure procedure)  Select correct heading and pull HDG knob into heading select.
** At flap retraction altitude: Call “ALTITUDE HOLD, SPEED SINGLE ENGINE CLIMB” Follow FD and accelerate in level flight.  Push ALT HOLD button on FGS panel. Set speed bug to slat retract speed plus twenty knots.
At flap retract speed:  Move flap/slat handle to retract
Call “FLAPS UP”  flaps and slats at appropriate
At slat retract speed:  speeds.
Call “SLATS RETRACT”

PILOT FLYING (PF)  PILOT MONITORING (PM)
At single engine climb speed: Call “IAS, OVERRIDE, MCT” Follow FD and trim aircraft as required.  At single engine climb speed: Push IAS button on FGS panel, Move AIR COND SHUTOFF switch to OVRD, Push MCT button on TRI and check correct EPR is set. Disengage autothrottles.
