the requirements of the emergency power check are met.  An
indication of continuous charging must be corrected prior to
gate departure.
Note:  The meter selector switch should be in BATT AMP (except when checking other selected sources) to allow continuous monitoring of battery and battery charger.
Emergency Power Transfer Relay Check
Start with all busses powered from either the APU or external power. The bus switches for only one source of power (APU or EXT PWR) may be on, the other bus switches must be off.
.
Turn the appropriate APU or EXT PWR L BUS switch off and verify the AC EMER BUS OFF and DC EMER BUS OFF lights are out.

.
Turn the appropriate APU or EXT PWR L BUS switch back on.

.
Turn the appropriate APU or EXT PWR R BUS switch off and verify the AC EMER BUS OFF and DE EMER BUS OFF lights are out.

.
Turn the appropriate APU or EXT PWR R BUS switch back on.

OTHER FLIGHTS
.
CSD disconnects normal, capped, and safety wired.

.
Generator switches ON.

.  AC and DC BUS X-TIE switches AUTO and OPEN.
.
Battery switch ON and locked.

.
Battery voltage is 25 volts or higher.

Caution: If battery voltage is less than 25 volts, move BATT switch to OFF.  Battery must be replaced.

FIRST FLIGHT OF DAY
Boost Pumps and Crossfeed

To check the fuel boost pumps, the engine fire shutoff handles must be in the full forward position and the fuel crossfeed lever should be Off. Check the pumps one at a time (including the DC start pump), noting that the applicable L or R INLET FUEL PRESS LOW light goes out when each pump is selected.  Verify that the master caution light illuminates each time a fuel boost pump is turned off and the corresponding INLET FUEL PRESS LOW light illuminates. Checking the center wing fuel boost pumps should cause both the L and R INLET FUEL PRESS LOW lights to go out. (Assuming fuel is available in the center tank)
To check the fuel crossfeed, turn on one wing boost pump and open the fuel X-feed.  Note that both FUEL INLET PRESS LOW lights are out. Close the fuel X-feed.  If APU is operating, leave a center or right tank fuel boost pump operating after completion of the fuel boost check.
On aircraft with usable fuel in auxiliary tanks, check the fuel transfer pumps by moving (one at a time) the FWD and AFT AUX TRANS switches to TEST. Note applicable AUX FUEL PUMP PRESS LOW light comes on momentarily then goes off.  Failure of light to go off indicates a faulty pump.  Do not hold switches in TEST for extended periods of time since fuel is being transferred into center tank during the test.  Switches should remain in OFF after check is complete.
Note:  All auxiliary tank fuel transfer pumps must be off for takeoffs and landings.
Fuel Quantity Indicators and Counters Push the TEST button and observe L Main, R Main, and Ctr tank readouts change to 3000 lbs and the total fuel quantity readout indicates 9000 lbs (aircraft with aux tanks:  15,000 lbs) and the Gross Weight readout displays the zero fuel weight plus 9000 lbs (aircraft with aux tanks:  15,000 lbs).  Release the TEST button and observe the readouts return to the pre-test values.  Rotate the TEST button to the untested channel (A or B) and repeat the test.  If all 9s appear in any tank
readout window, a tank indicator malfunction has occurred and maintenance is required. The individual tank quantity indicators should be added and compared
with the total fuel indication to confirm that the totalizer is summing properly.  Individual fuel tanks may disagree during the test by + 100 lbs.  The totalizer must be + 100 lbs.
Momentarily move the fuel used reset switch to reset and observe that
the fuel used counters reset to zero.
Ensure proper amount of fuel is on board using the fuel slip procedures
described in the Operations Manual.
