Pull the engine START switch to activate the ignition circuit and to start the starter operation. The engine START switch light will illuminate white.

Set the FUEL CONTROL switch to the RUN position at 15 %N2.

Engine START switch will automatically release at approximately 50% N2, and START switch light will go off. If this does not happen, the "STARTER CUTOUT" EICAS message will show and the START switch must manually be pushed to the off position to stop the starter and ignition operation.

When the system for the automatic engine start is used, the SCU can monitor the engine start operation if you set the applicable ignition system, set the AUTOSTART switch to "ON", pull the engine START switch to "ON", and move the FUEL CONTROL switch to "RUN".
