If necessary, clean the threads of the igniter plug port in the diffuser case with the PWA 27641 chasing tap.

Install the tab washer on the igniter plug boss.
1) Bend the keys of the tab washer around the flange of the igniter plug boss.
(i)
Install the igniter plug boss, the igniter plug and the spacers (previously selected) (AMM 74-21-02/401).

1. General

A. This procedure gives the steps to clean the igniter plugs.
B. Each engine has two equal igniter plugs in the diffuser and combustor case.
(1)
You can find one of the igniter plugs at the 4 o'clock position.
(a) This igniter plug is part of ignition system 1.
(2)
You can find the other igniter plug at the 5 o'clock position.
(a) This igniter plug is part of ignition system 2.
C. We recommend that you do this procedure before the inspection of the igniter plugs.

Do the steps that follow to clean the outer shell of the igniter plug:
WARNING: DO NOT GET METHYL ETHYL KETONE (MEK) IN YOUR MOUTH OR
_______ EYES, OR ON YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM MEK. PUT A PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLE AND GLOVES ON WHEN YOU USE MEK. KEEP MEK AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAME, AND HEAT. MEK IS A POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE SOLVENT WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Use MEK to remove the grease from the outer shell of the igniter plug.
