(3) Do the igniter plug immersion depth check (AMM 74-21-02/601) if the thickness of the parts is not available and if:
-
the igniter plug boss (2) was removed or replaced, or
-
the classified spacer (1) was removed or replaced.

(4) Install the classified spacers (1) and the igniter plug boss (2) if:
-
the classified spacers (1) or the igniter plug boss (2) were removed or replaced, and
-
the thickness of the parts was found for installation.

(5) If removed, install the igniter plug boss.
(a) Clean the threads of the igniter plug boss (2) with the petroleum solvent to remove carbon particles and thread lubricant.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE SILVER GOOP ON THE THREADS OF THE IGNITER PLUG
_______ BOSS IF A DIFFERENT LUBRICANT WAS USED BEFORE. IF SILVER GOOP IS USED WHERE OTHER LUBRICANTS WERE USED, IT CAN BECOME HARD AFTER THE ENGINE OPERATES.
(b) Lubricate the outer threads of the igniter plug boss (2) with the silver goop lubricant or the Fel-Pro C-200.
NOTE: Do not apply too much lubricant to the igniter plug
____
threads.
(c)
Install the classified spacer (1) or spacers to the igniter plug boss (2).
(d)
Install the igniter plug boss (2) to the diffuser base.
(e)
Tighten the igniter plug boss (2) to 375-440 pound-inches (42.4-49.7 newton-meters).
(f)
Safety the igniter plug boss (2) with lockwire or safety cable and safety cable ferrule.

(6) Install the igniter plug.
(a) If necessary, clean the threads of the igniter plug (4) with petroleum solvent to remove the carbon particles and thread lubricant.
