(c)  Hold the igniter plug boss (2) with the crowfoot wrench and install the igniter plug (4). 1) Tighten the igniter plug (4) to 300-360 pound-inches

Close the right thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

IGNITER PLUG - INSPECTION/CHECK

 1.  General
_______
 A.  This procedure gives the data for the tasks that follow:
 (1)  
Visual inspection of the igniter plug.

 (2)  
Immersion depth check of the igniter plug.


 B.  Each engine has two equal igniter plugs in the diffuser and combustor case.
 (1)  
You will find one of the igniter plugs at the 4 o'clock position.

 (a) This igniter plug is part of the ignition system 1.

 (2)  
You will find the other igniter plug at the 5 o'clock position.


 (a) This igniter plug is part of the ignition system 2.
 C.  Use the visual inspection when you examine the igniter plugs for worn areas and for damage.
 (1) This will tell you if you must replace the igniter plug.
 D.  Use the immersion depth check to find the thickness of the spacer and igniter boss.
 (1)  You can also use this procedure when the engine does not start satisfactorily.
 E.  We recommend that you clean the igniter plugs before you do the inspection.
