 WARNING:_______ DO THE THRUST REVERSER DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE
 OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER.  THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF
 THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO

 EQUIPMENT.
 (3)  
Do this procedure: Thrust Reverser Deactivation for Ground Maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Open the right core cowl panel (AMM 71-11-06/201).

 WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN AMM 78-31-00/201 WHEN YOU OPEN THE
_______ THRUST REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.

Open the right thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Remove the cable (3) from the engine:


 (a)  Remove the parts that are attached to the cable (3): 1) Remove the bolt (16), the nut (14), and the cable clamp
 (17) that hold the cable (3) to the bracket (15). 2) If you remove the upper and the lower cables (3), remove the bracket (15) from the engine.
 3)  To disconnect the cooling air hose, loosen the clamp (7) that holds the cooling air hose to the cable (3).
 (b)  Remove the heat shields (1, 4, 5, and 9): 1) Loosen the hose clamp (2) that holds the heat shields (1
 and 9) on the cable (3) at the igniter plug end. 2) Remove the heat shields (1 and 9) from the cable (3). 3) Loosen the hose clamps (2 and 6) that hold the heat shields
 (4 and 5) on the ignition exciter end of the cable (3). 4) Remove the heat shields (4 and 5) from the cable (3).
 (c)  Disconnect the ends of the cable (3):
 1)  Loosen the cable coupling nut from the output connection of the ignition exciter.
 NOTE: The cable coupling nut must be sufficiently loose to
____ permit the cable to move freely. The cable coupling nut must not be sufficiently loose to permit removal of the cable.

CAUTION: REMOVE THE CABLE END FROM THE IGNITER PLUG IN A
_______ STRAIGHT LINE. IF LATERAL FORCE IS PERMITTED, DAMAGE CAN OCCUR TO THE CABLE END.
 2) Disconnect the cable coupling nut from the igniter plug. 3) Ground the cable end against the igniter plug casing. 4) Disconnect the cable coupling nut from the output
 connection of the ignition exciter. 5) Remove the three hose clamps (2, 2 and 6) from the cable (3).
 (d)  
Remove the cable (3) from the engine.

 (e)  
Move the coupling nuts until you can remove the grommets (13) from the ends of the cable (3). 1) Discard the grommets (13). 2) Install a cap on the ends of the cable (3) and on the


 output connection on the ignition exciter.
