NOTE:____Make sure no air is caught when you apply the seal. Apply sufficient sealant so that you can make the seal smooth and level.

AIRPLANES WITHOUT EFIS; Make sure the applicable DME, VHF NAV, and INSTR XFMR circuit breakers on the P6 and P18 panels are closed.

AIRPLANES WITH EFIS; Make sure the applicable DME, VHF NAV, EFIS and EHSI circuit breakers on the P6 and P18 panels are closed.

Do a test of the antenna, as follows:
(a)
Set the mode select switch on the applicable VHF NAV control panel to the MAN position.
(b)
Set the local VOR/ILS station's frequency on the applicable VHF NAV control panel.
(c)
Make sure the captain and first officer RDDMI DME indicator shows the correct value.
(d)
If the local VOR/ILS station is not avialable, do the DME System Test (AMM 34-55-00/501, Airplanes without EFIS) or (AMM 34-55-02/501, Airplanes with EFIS).
(5)
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

A. This procedure has two tasks. One is the removal of the DME
interrogator; the other is installation of the DME interrogator.
B. The left, and right DME interrogators are installed in the main equipment center on the rack E-2.

(1) Open the applicable circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:

CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS OR OTHER CONDUCTORS ON THE
_______ DME INTERROGATOR. IF YOU TOUCH THESE CONDUCTORS, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DME INTERROGATOR.

Remove the applicable DME interrogator (AMM 20-10-07/201).
