DME ANTENNA - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. One is the removal of the DME antenna. The other is the installation of the DME antenna. The installation task includes a test of the DME antenna.
B. Two DME antennas are installed on the airplane. The antennas are on the bottom centerline of the fuselage. The DME system No. 1 antenna is at station 468 and the DME system No. 2 antenna is at station 580 (Fig. 401).

(1) Aerodynamic smoother cutting tool - hardwood or plexiglass
B. Prepare for Removal

(1) For the DME No. 1 and DME No. 2 system antennas, open the DME-1 and DME-2 circuit breakers on the P18 and P6 circuit breaker panels.
