 DME SYSTEM -TROUBLE SHOOTING

 1.  General_______
 A.  The tree-type format makes use of the self-test features of the interrogator unit and gives a quick procedure for isolating faults without the use of additional test equipment.
 B.  The procedure is written for one DME system. When two DME systems are installed. Replace the components to do the trouble shooting.
 C.  If the procedures do not correct the incorrect operation, examine the airplane wiring.
 2.  Prepare for Trouble Shooting____________________________
 A.  Supply the electrical power.
 B.  Make sure all applicable circuit breakers on P6 and P18 panels are closed.
 C.  On the VHF NAV control panel, push the MAN switch. Make sure the AUTO frequency display is blank and MANUAL frequency display shows the correct frequency.
