R - activate the voice frequency contained in the last received COMPANY
R CALL message (4L)
R - enter manually a frequency (5L)
R - select the Data mode (5R).
R On the second line below VHF3 VOICE DIRECTORY title, DATA or VOICE
R indication is displayed.

R - OP or INOP indication shows the VDR3 status
R - COMM, NO COMM or DLK INOP indication shows the communication
R status between the VDR3 and the service provider.
R - VOICE or DATA indication shows the VDR3 mode of operation.
R (b) SATCOM (4L and 5L)
R - OP, INOP or NOT INST indication shows the SDU status.
R - COMM, NO COMM or DLK INOP indication shows the communication
R status between the SDU and the service provider.

R The second COMM STATUS page displays the connection status "OP"

R The COMPANY CALL page enables the crew to acknowledge, validate a
R COMPANY CALL message or display the message related to the COMPANY
R CALL message from the ground. Up to 220 characters of free text can
R be displayed, but beyond 100 characters, text display is continued on
R page 2/2.
R It enables the crew to switch the VDR3 in Voice mode. The voice
R frequency is the frequency requested by the airline.
R (a) VHF3 TUNE (1L)
R Below VHF3 TUNE, the airline frequency is displayed.
R This line key enables to deactivate the alert and to activate
R automatically the command to switch the VDR3 in Voice mode.
R (b) CO CALL CLEAR (1R)
R This line key enables to deactivate the COMPANY CALL alert.
