C. Datalink Alerts and Alarms The ATSU uses the services provided by the FWCs to activate visual/aural alerts and alarms in case of:
-AOC message receiving
-failure or unavailability of datalink functions.
The FWCs are used to generate these warning indications according to the information provided by the ATSU. The conditions of activation/deactivation of these warning indications are managed by the ATSU, while the FWCs are in charge of display, priority and inhibition management.
The warning indications are presented in the table herafter. No local attention getters (aural or visual) are used for these ACARS warning indications.
NOTE : The FWCs generate alerts entitled 'ACARS' even though the ATSU is

The ACARS CALL memo is displayed on the upper ECAM DU when a 'COMPANY CALL' request is received from the ground. The condition of activation of this memo is processed directly by the air/ground communication functions and is not AOC application dependent.
The ACARS STBY memo is generated when the datalink communications between air and ground are lost or unavailable. Namely, when one of the three data or set of data: ARN, Flight Identification and scan mask is unavailable for the ATSU, this memo is displayed.
