FWC Warnings The FWCs generate the COM ACARS FAULT warning when the ATSU is failed and depending on the flight phases inhibition. This warning is displayed on the left bottom section of the upper ECAM DU.

FWC memo The FWCs generate the following Right memo on the bottom section of the upper ECAM DU:
ACARS STBY Loss of datalink function

(8) Uplink messages processing The ATSU router receives messages from the VDR3, HFDR1 (if installed) and SDU (if installed). For uplink messages, the ATSU router determines the required destination by reading a specific label and forwards the message to the correct application (hosted AOC, remote AOC, printer...).
(a) Uplink message labels
The uplink message labels are the following: SQ Message Squitter :; ACARS Remote autotune _DEL General response 54 Voice Go-ahead or
COMPANY CALL C1 Printer message
NOTE : All uplink blocks other than squitters (label SQ) and
____ whose address fields (airline ID and ARN) do not match the aircraft addresses are ignored. Messages with label H1 are directed to the remote AOC applications. Uplink message with label C1 is sent directly to the printer.
The ATSU generates the green left memo "ACARS CALL" or "COMPANY CALL" when the uplink message is a Voice Go-ahead message (label 54).
(b) Uplink message sublabels Sublabels enable to direct the message to the appropriate peripheral:

(9) Downlink messages processing The ATSU router routes the downlink messages according to the availability of the sub-networks and according to the datalink sub-networks selection policy applicable to the application which generates the message. The router informs the applications of the availability of the different sub-networks.
